Job Description

Purchasing and Inventory Control Specialist - Contract-Hire/Full-time - Onsite in Minnetonka, MN Do you enjoy hands-on work coordinating purchasing, inventory, and production activities? Are you someone who thrives in a focused manufacturing environment and likes seeing tasks through to completion? This opportunity is with a small, stable manufacturing company that values reliability, accuracy, and teamwork. The Production & Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in keeping daily operations moving by managing purchasing tasks, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting production schedules using an ERP system. This is a hands-on position ideal for a motivated individual contributor who enjoys structure, routine, and ownership of their work.
JOB DETAILS
Pay:
$28-$30+/hour, based on experience Contract-to-Hire opportunity
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
Location:
100% onsite in Minnetonka, MN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage daily purchasing activities including requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier follow-up Coordinate and adjust production schedules based on material availability and demand Create, release, track, and close manufacturing work orders within the ERP system Monitor raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to support smooth production flow Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and help maintain accurate inventory records Maintain item data, lead times, and planning parameters in the system Identify material shortages and assist with expediting to avoid production delays Use Excel and ERP tools for data entry, tracking, and reporting
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience using Sage X3 ERP or StockIQ experience preferred; Open to candidates with experience working with similar ERP systems Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and follow-through Excel skills at a basic to intermediate level Self-motivated, hands-on contributor mindset
