Position Summary The Receiving & Inventory Specialist supports warehouse operations by ensuring incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and properly stored. This role verifies shipment details, maintains inventory records in the warehouse system, and coordinates incoming deliveries. Primary Responsibilities Receive and process shipments, ensuring accuracy between physical deliveries, packing slips, and internal purchase orders. Enter and verify inventory transactions in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to quantities, product condition, or documentation. Schedule and coordinate incoming deliveries with carriers to maintain efficient dock operations. Communicate with transportation providers regarding delivery timing, documentation, and unloading requirements. Inspect all incoming freight for damage, shortages, or incorrect items. Document freight issues and partner with the Purchasing Department to resolve vendor or carrier discrepancies Ensure all received inventory is properly labeled, scanned, and placed in designated warehouse locations. Maintain accurate bin locations and ensure products are stored in a "ready to pick" environment to support order fulfillment. Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and stock verification activities Maintain accurate, organized receiving areas and ensure all inventory movements are recorded accurately. Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers in a safe and efficient manner Provide floor leadership to maintain daily workflows, receiving schedules, and safety protocols during management absences, ensuring operational continuity and making sound, timely decisions as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while following all safety rules and established protocols outlined in the company's safety policy and employee handbook Skills & Abilities Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory records Comfortable working within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory control systems. Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, purchasing, and transportation vendors. Committed to maintaining a safe, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment Certified (or able to become certified) to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers up to 20 feet. Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and remain active on the warehouse floor throughout the shift in varying warehouse conditions. Strong basic math skills and the ability to accurately calculate measurements, quantities, inventory counts, and production data. Follow instructions, communicate with supervisors and team members, and document production data. Collaborate effectively with other team members. Demonstrated ability to lead by example, guide peers, and maintain warehouse productivity with limited supervision, including sound decision-making in management's absence. Education & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent.Preferred:
3+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment.Preferred:
