With more than 25 years of experience in construction and property maintenance , we provide high-quality maintenance, repair, renovation, and inspection-readiness services for residential multifamily properties. We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Materials & Inventory Technician to manage warehouse operations, inventory control, procurement, and field material distribution in support of our maintenance teams. If you are detail-oriented, comfortable coordinating with vendors and technicians, and take pride in maintaining an organized warehouse and accurate inventory records, we want to meet you. As a Materials & Inventory Technician, you will be responsible for ordering and receiving materials, preparing technician orders, delivering parts to job sites as needed, tracking material usage by community, and supporting invoicing and cost control efforts . Manage warehouse organization, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy. Receive, inspect, label, and store materials, tools, and supplies. Maintain inventory counts and ensure adequate stock of commonly used parts and materials. Process purchase orders and procure materials from approved vendors. Source special-order parts and coordinate delivery timelines. Take material requests from technicians and prepare orders for pickup. Deliver materials and parts to field technicians and job sites as needed. Maintain sign-in/sign-out logs for all materials, tools, and equipment. Track material usage and allocate costs to the appropriate property or community. Assist with invoicing by compiling material receipts and supporting documentation. Negotiate bulk purchasing discounts and identify cost-saving opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Coordinate vendor-led product and installation training for technicians. Monitor vendor performance related to pricing, delivery, and service. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely, when certified. Use company software and spreadsheets to track inventory, purchasing, and costs. Perform other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:
Two to five (2-5) years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, purchasing, or materials management required. Experience in construction, maintenance, multifamily, or property management environments preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience with procurement, purchase orders, and vendor coordination. Ability to accurately track materials and assign costs by property or job. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic inventory tracking software. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform frequent loading, unloading, and material handling. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.Physical Demands:
Employee is frequently required to travel to various properties to oversee maintenance projects within the City of Charlotte, NC. Employee will experience a combination of warehouse, office, and field work. Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching; bending; kneeling; and climbing ladders; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties; and attending on-site meetings and off-site meetings. Employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. Employee must occasionally transport up to 50 pounds.Work Environment:
The employee works indoor and outdoor and is frequently exposed to weather extremes. The employee may occasionally be subjected to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals (e.g., cleaning solutions, solvents, insecticides), and skin irritants. The employee may be required to use goggles, gloves, masks, lumbar support belts, safety boots, and other personal protective equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employees must have access to 24 hour reliable phone & internet service. Employees must also have reliable transportation to and from work, as well as, to get to and from multiple work locations based on business needs and assignments. Employee is responsible for providing own basic hand tools. Position may require employees to work overtime, nights and weekends when needed or in the case of an emergency. All employees must be authorized to work in the United States.
