Essential Functions:
Inventory Management & Merchandising Accurately receive and check in inventory against purchase orders and packing slips. Properly price incoming products, place merchandise on the sales floor, and restock to maintain full displays. Maintain appropriate signage and ensure display presentations meet premier hospitality standards. Monitor and rotate stock in Hotel Markets; assess inventory needs, ensure cleanliness, and transfer merchandise as needed. Manage and report damaged or unreceived goods; create and follow up on vendor claims. Notify the Director of Retail when inventory levels are low and items need reordering. Assist Director of Retail with Annual Physical Inventory; reconcile variances and report to Accounting. Vendor Coordination & Supply Management Order and pick up supplies and merchandise from local vendors and suppliers. Oversee pickups and deliveries to ensure timely and accurate inventory flow. Point of Sale & Financial Transactions Maintain POS systems for campus-wide retail outlets (Square - Gifts & Grounds and Recreation). Process POS transactions, approve refunds/voids, and implement change orders (cash) for all locations throughout the day. Store Operations & Guest Services Assist with opening and closing procedures. Fulfill guest special orders and shipments. Ensure overall orderliness and cleanliness of store environments. Collaborate with the Director of Retail on merchandising strategies for non-food items. Professional Standards & Safety Demonstrate excellent hospitality skills in all guest and team interactions. Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe conditions to supervisor or HR. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to 1-2 years or an Associate's in Business, Hospitality or Retail related field. Hospitality experience strongly desired. Excellent time management skills. Above average math skills required. Must exhibit accuracy and ability to be detail oriented with all reporting and transactions. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Demonstrated client relation skills, and a commitment to providing responsive and conscientious customer service. Working knowledge and experience with POS and inventory management systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, multiple task demands, and work structures. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, emails, and memos. Ability to interact with a wide range of people in varied situations, and calmly and professionally address guest complaints or concerns. Able to receive a variety of customer, client and employee questions, and know where and how to resource information to provide accurate and timely responses. Local travel required. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to transport supplies using LJA vehicle or personal vehicle with reimbursement for mileage.
Working conditions:
Moderate physical activity performing at times strenuous type work. Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned retail store setting with adequate ventilation; moderate noise.
Physical demands:
able to lift, push, pull or otherwise reposition up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity sufficient to reach, and handle items to include hot equipment. Manual dexterity to perceive attributes of objects and materials. Climb, balance, stoop, kneel; frequently moves about, able to stand and walk for extended periods. At times, be outdoors in all weather conditions.
