This role is ideal for someone who understands inventory operations, item setup, purchasing, receiving, transfers, adjustments, and reporting inside Business Central. The successful candidate will work closely with accounting, purchasing, warehouse, sales, and operations teams to ensure inventory data is accurate, transactions are processed correctly, and inventory workflows are running efficiently. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Set up and update items, item categories, units of measure, locations, bins, and inventory posting groups. Process inventory adjustments, transfers, receipts, shipments, and related transactions. Review and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory valuation reports. Monitor inventory levels and help identify shortages, overstock, or obsolete items. Support purchasing, receiving, warehouse, and sales teams with inventory-related questions. Troubleshoot inventory transaction issues in Business Central. Help improve inventory workflows, controls, and reporting. Generate and analyze inventory reports for management. Ensure inventory transactions are properly recorded and aligned with company procedures. Assist with data cleanup, item master maintenance, and process documentation. Qualifications Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central . Strong understanding of inventory management processes. Experience with item setup, inventory adjustments, transfers, purchasing, receiving, and warehouse transactions. Ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Comfortable working with reports, spreadsheets, and inventory data. Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments. Basic understanding of accounting or inventory costing is a plus. Experience with cycle counts or physical inventory processes is preferred. Preferred Experience 2+ year of experience working with Business Central. Experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, retail, or inventory control. Familiarity with inventory valuation, costing methods, item tracking, serial numbers, lot numbers, or warehouse management. Microsoft Excel experience, including filtering, sorting, lookups, and basic reporting. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working inside Business Central daily. You should understand how inventory transactions affect operations and reporting, and you should be able to identify problems, clean up data, and help improve inventory processes.
