Job Description

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing, tracking, and replenishing inventory across warehouse locations to ensure consistent product availability for foodservice distributors. This role plays a critical part in supporting school operations by maintaining optimal stock levels, minimizing shortages, and ensuring timely and complete fulfillment of distributor purchase orders.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor daily inventory levels across warehouses and identify replenishment needs. Place purchase orders with manufacturers and restock products as needed at each warehouse. Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP tools. Balance inventory at each warehouse on a weekly/monthly basis. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including shrinkage and overstock issues. Forecast demand based on historical usage, seasonal trends, and K-12 school calendars. Collaborate with logistics and manufacturing partners to ensure timely delivery to warehouses. Generate inventory reports and provide insights to improve stock efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma required; associate or bachelors degree in supply chain, logistics or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations or supply chain management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. Excellent computer and Microsoft Excel skills a must. Candidates will be asked to complete a skills assessment as part of their interview process.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of demand forecasting and inventory planning techniques. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

$46,000.00 per year
