JOB SUMMARY
Each job title holds the core responsibility of supporting materials management operations with the delivery of exceptional customer service delivery throughout the Stillwater Medical Center System. The Acquisition Specialist located in the Materials Management Purchasing Department is accountable to the Materials Director for
System Wide:
Surgical Services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; processing purchasing request within 24 hours of receipt and communicating back to the requesting department the eta associated to the acquisitions. Running the automatic purchase orders from the Pyxis supply stations and from the main inventory. Monitors the par levels and prevents any chance of outage.
Note:
walk the supply room, record overstock/items approaching a-near outages and verify that the automatics picked up the outages based on the physical count in Meditech/Pyxis. Data entry for semi-annual and annual inventory, data entry of item setup and removal. Associates and validates the accuracy of vendor and manufacture fields and packaging to the appropriate item, aligns item categories to the appropriate EOC according to the decision chart. Provides back up for the Acquisition Specialist for PPM, Acquisition Specialist for Med-Surg/Lab, Acquisition Specialist for Cath Lab, Acquisition Specialist for Capital, Facilities, IT. Provides back up for MM Tech (Surgical Services), MM Tech (Medical), MM Tech (Critical Care Services), & MM Tech (PPM/Offsite Locations & Pyxis Specialist), MM Tech Asset & Record Storage, and Linen Distribution. Takes call according to the rotation schedule - every 5 th weekend.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or GED Equivalent. Excellent Customer and People Skills. Multi-tasking and Organizational Skills.
Computer Experience:
Meditech Data Entry, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Email & Calendar; MD Buyline, and other programs that support the various department processes. Considerable ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to read and follow written instructions as well as write legibly.
Basic and inventory mathematical skills:
ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; prepare cost analysis and comparative analysis. Understands the concept of inventory management par level systems and simple accounting (debits and credits). Ability to use a manual and/or electronic pallet jack (in the event it is necessary to do so).
Time & Attendance:
understand the importance of arriving to work without unscheduled absence: and the ability to effectively and accurately master the use of the time clock and to understand the importance of arriving on time and departing on time. Ability to acknowledge and recognize the contributions of others in our work environment and Manage Them Up to the director. Ability to represent the Materials Management Department and the Stillwater Medical Center in a positive manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Safe lifting skills: the ability to lift up to 50-lbs occasionally greater with assistance. Stamina to handle extensive standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending at knees, stooping, and reaching. Sitting for extended periods of time. Able to hear, listen, and accurately relay information via telephone, cellular phone, and Vocera. Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections. Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials. Stamina to deal with stressful situations and to complete necessary work within the allotted timeframe. Stamina to process acquisitions within 24 hours of receipt of the requisition. Able to speak clearly and distinctly with staff, physicians, etc.
