Job Description

The VMI Replenishment Planner owns Earlbeck's vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs for Pennsylvania accounts, ensuring the right gases, welding consumables, and hardgoods are always on hand at customer sites. Reporting to the PA Regional Sales Manager (with day-to-day support for the York Branch Manager), the Planner optimizes stock levels, processes customer orders, and coordinates timely replenishment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implement, monitor, and continuously improve VMI programs for strategic accounts.
  • Conduct regular on-site audits and cycle counts at customer facilities.
  • Analyze consumption data, forecast demand, and satisfy min/max levels based on utilization
  • Generate replenishment orders
  • Work closely with Purchasing to maintain optimum safety stock and lead-time buffers.
  • Identify cross-sell/upsell opportunities based on consumption trends and share leads with Sales.
  • Recommending appropriate products and services to customers, by phone or in person
  • Prepare quotes on equipment, gases, and related products using Microsoft Office suite technology
  • Handle retail customer transactions via credit card, cash, check, or Net 30 terms as needed
  • Arrange and/or conduct in-store product demonstrations, branch events, & promotions
  • Maintain, restock, and organize customer facing showroom displays and warehouse inventory
  • Pull hardgoods or gas inventory as needed, to be loaded onto delivery truck for delivery
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent communication and customer-service orientation
  • Self-starter who can prioritize, adapt, and deliver
  • Ability to travel to local customer sites (≈ 25 %) and
  • Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Computer literacy required
  • Valid driver's license
