Job Description

Position Summary:
The Supervisor, Inventory is responsible for supervising daily pharmacy operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and audit-ready inventory management that supports uninterrupted production and dispensing activities. This role supervises inventory processes across finished goods, commercial medications, APIs, consumables, and pharmacy supplies within a regulated compounding pharmacy environment. The Inventory Supervisor provides leadership and direction for inventory personnel, establishes accountability standards, monitors team performance, and collaborates cross-functionally with pharmacy operations, purchasing, and quality teams to maintain efficient and compliant inventory operations.
Essential Functions:
  • Supervises daily inventory operations to support accurate, efficient, and uninterrupted pharmacy operations.
  • Provides daily leadership, coaching, training, and performance oversight to inventory and pharmacy support personnel.
  • Oversees inventory control activities including receiving, replenishment, ordering, reconciliation, and inventory accuracy management for pharmacy inventory and operational supplies.
  • Ensures inventory records, lot traceability, documentation, and inventory transactions are accurately maintained within inventory systems and in compliance with operational standards.
  • Leads cycle counts, discrepancy investigations, inventory audits, and resolution of inventory variances and operational risks.
  • Supports employee accountability, productivity, staffing coordination, and performance management in partnership with leadership and Human Resources.
  • Coordinates with pharmacy, purchasing, quality, and operations teams to support production priorities, workflow efficiency, and operational continuity.
  • Ensures inventory operations, storage areas, and documentation remain compliant with SOPs, USP standards, safety requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Identifies operational inefficiencies and supports process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, workflow effectiveness, and department performance.
  • Monitors operational and inventory performance metrics and escalates concerns proactively to support productivity, compliance, and service expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Active Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in inventory, warehouse, or pharmacy operations required; 1-3 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated or controlled environment required.
  • Working knowledge of inventory processes, including tracking, cycle counting, and inventory control.
  • Ability to follow and enforce established procedures and maintain consistency across inventory activities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across teams.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with inventory systems and Microsoft Office applications (e.
g., Excel, Outlook).

              Working Conditions:
              This position operates within a sterile compounding pharmacy environment and requires adherence to strict safety, cleanliness, and regulatory standards. Evening shift work may be required to support operational needs and order fulfillment timelines.
