Job Description

Job Summary Hunter Express US Inc. is seeking a highly organized and dependable Inventory Control & Purchasing Coordinator to oversee our parts inventory and purchasing operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ordering supplies from vendors, tracking company assets, and ensuring the maintenance department always has the parts and equipment needed to keep our fleet operating efficiently. Responsibilities Manage and maintain inventory of truck and trailer parts, tires, tools, fluids, shop supplies, safety equipment, tarps, straps, chains, seals, and other company assets. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels. Create and maintain inventory records using spreadsheets or inventory management software. Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and reorder items before shortages occur. Contact vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing, request quotes, place purchase orders, and follow up on deliveries. Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and negotiate competitive pricing when possible. Receive shipments, verify quantities, inspect for accuracy, and organize inventory in designated storage locations. Issue parts and supplies to mechanics and employees while maintaining accurate sign-out records. Investigate inventory discrepancies and conduct routine audits. Keep the parts room, warehouse, and storage areas clean, organized, and properly labeled. Coordinate with the maintenance department to ensure required parts are available for scheduled repairs and preventive maintenance. Track purchase history and assist management with budgeting and cost-control initiatives. Maintain documentation for purchases, invoices, warranties, and vendor records. Identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory and recommend disposal or replacement strategies. Ensure company equipment and inventory are handled securely and responsibly. Qualifications Weekend Availability is a must Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, purchasing, or parts management is preferred. Experience in the trucking, transportation, automotive, or heavy equipment industry is a plus. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Comfortable communicating with vendors and suppliers by phone and email. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
