JOB DESCRIPTION
Inventory Control Specialist (Entry-Level) The Inventory Control Specialist supports bonded room operations for controlled storage of NASA spaceflight hardware under the Cargo Mission Contract. This role is responsible for inventory tracking, inspections, work order processing, and logistical support to ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability of critical hardware. The position requires close coordination with cross-functional teams and adherence to established property management and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Execute bonded room inventory control operations, including check-in/check-out, tracking, inspection, packing, and reporting in accordance with established procedures Ensure proper handling, storage, transfer, and safeguarding of equipment, materials, and supplies to prevent damage or deterioration Process work orders accurately in both physical and electronic systems Maintain accurate inventory records within property and inventory management systems Conduct inspections and support stocking/restocking of hardware to maintain inventory accuracy and readiness Interface daily with cross-functional teams to address property-related questions and ensure operational alignment Support inventory management and logistics for controlled bonded storage areas Assist in the management and accountability of government-furnished hardware within secured storage environments Participate in routine property management activities, including physical inventories, utilization reviews, hardware disposition, and internal/external audits Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to inventory control and bonded room operations Process work orders both physically and electronically Support inventory management and logistical operations for controlled bonded storage
REQUIREMENTS
Inventory Control Specialist (Entry-Level)
Education:
High School Diploma (Some college preferred) Year(s) of
Experience:
Entry-level role; prior space industry experience not required
Minimum Citizenship:
U.S.
Citizen Required Skills and Traits:
Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks Customer service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., Maximo 7) Familiarity with NASA inventory and property management systems Understanding of work order systems for issuing and transferring equipment Experience receiving hardware and creating inventory records based on purchase orders
Additional Information:
