Engineering Technician III - Supply CXT Phoenix Group of Virginia, Inc. Chesapeake, VA Job Details Full-time $85,000 - $95,000 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Blueprint specification interpretation Schematics Team leadership Mentoring Professional development training Full Job Description Join Phoenix Group as a Navy Supply & Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Carrier Transition Team (CXT). We are seeking a seasoned professional to play a key role in collaborating with Ship's Force to identify and resolve deck plate issues during a carrier's Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH). The ideal candidate has an expert-level understanding of naval supply processes combined with an engineering or maintenance background, enabling them to quickly identify parts and bridge the gap between supply and repair activities. This role is for someone who has "lived the life" of a supply technician who excelled at it. You will work closely with the crew to navigate the variances in ordering parts and materials in an RCOH environment. Your mission will be to provide immediate technical assistance, help eliminate schedule risks, train and mentor sailors, and ensure Ship's Force is prepared for operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
Be proactive and embedded with Ship's Force, becoming a trusted, integral part of the crew. Serve as a trusted advisor knowledgeable of shipboard systems, maintenance processes, and RCOH operations. Provide mentorship and training to Supply personnel on best practices for ordering, tracking, and managing materials in RCOH. Proactively engage in helping the crew in identifying discrepancies in parts ordering and logistics, especially long-lead-time materials to prevent work stoppages. Team with Ship's Force to anticipate and eliminate potential risks to production, particularly those related to material availability. Help shape CXT's short-term and long-term objectives that align with the team's mission.
Qualifications Education:
8+ years of CVN (Carrier) maintenance, supply, and modernization experience is highly desired. This must include hands-on experience in a shipyard environment, with a strong preference for RCOH experience. A bachelor's degree in engineering or technical area may be substituted for up to 4 years of experience.
Background:
A proven track record within the CVN Supply department is required. An engineering background or extensive experience interfacing with maintenance and repair divisions is a significant plus.
Skills & Requirements:
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills. Strong leadership and mentoring skills to support training and development initiatives. Expertise in naval logistics systems and the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM). A deep understanding of the unique challenges of ordering parts and materials during a CVN availability. Ability to read and interpret technical drawing and schematics to assist in part identification. U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a SECRET security clearance.
