Position Summary:
The Inventory Specialist's primary focus is to oversee daily inventory information processing, reporting issues and tracking resolutions for specific market locations. The Inventory Specialist will also work with a team to help develop and implement all policies, procedures, systems and best practices with regard to inventory, for the purpose of maintaining accurate financial information. Assists with inventory movement of liquefied petroleum gas (propane) and at Dead River Company rail terminals and throughout the company.Essential Functions:
Place parts orders for upcoming jobs, technician vehicles, and inventory stock. Perform counter sales and assist customers as needed. Process parts receiving and reconcile discrepancies between packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices. Maintain inventory records, including order quantities, preferred vendors, and pricing. Assist with daily and monthly inventory reporting and reconciliation tasks. Organize and label parts within the warehouse to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Learn and become proficient in all IT systems used by the department. Contribute to team projects, offering creative solutions and ideas for improvement. Complete cycle counts and full inventory for trucks, warehouses, and other locations. Flexible starting hours, maintain punctual and regular attendance, working 40-45 hours per week. Above average computer skills. Demonstrate a can-do attitude, adaptability, and willingness to shift responsibilities as needed. Multi-task, prioritize, and consistently deliver high-quality work. Act as a backup for other parts department team members and assist other departments as needed. Communicate effectively with technicians, installers, billing, and dispatch departments. Skills- Strong Microsoft Windows, Office and Excel skills. Ability to use standard office machines (e.g., scanner, printer, copier, postage machine). Experience:
General office experience, familiarity with accounting procedures, and some bookkeeping and data processing experience is preferred.Other Attributes Required:
