Job Description

The Inventory Specialist helps Vollrath succeed by maintaining and verifying inventory accuracy.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform daily cycle counts of finished goods, components and raw materials; determine the cause of inventory quantity errors and communicate corrective action to eliminate recurrence. Analyze inventory transactions and determine root causes for discrepancies. Maintain accurate inventory records. Record accurate transactions of stainless steel coils usage, if applicable. Close production orders; review receipts and requisitions charged to the orders in a timely manner. Assist in the preparation, execution, processing, and reconciliation of physical inventories as required. Assist production with resolving specific inventory issues. Maintain standard operating procedures related to job responsibilities and develop streamlined processes. Ensure documents for Cost Accounting are filed and disposed of in a timely manner per the defined document retention documentation. Assist with reconciling inventory between JD Edwards and Solochain. Complete Gate In/Gate Out process for CN1; coordinate with 3rd party logistics firm as needed. Serve as back-up in other areas of the department when necessary. Participate as an active team member in other projects or duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required; Associates Degree or courses in materials management and/or accounting preferred. One year of full time work experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience in cycle counting, materials management and/or manufacturing inventory flow. One year of full time work experience in a manufacturing environment. • Experience in JDE or other ERP systems preferable. General knowledge of manufacturing inventory flow. Computer proficiency, 10 key entry skills, interpersonal skills, good oral and written skills. Resourceful attitude, attention to details, and strong analytical skills. Ability and desire to learn. Ability to analyze inventory transactions and determine root causes for discrepancies. Ability to work as a team with production and engineering to improve inventory transaction processing. Ability to organize and work independently. Ability to perform advanced Microsoft Excel functions such as pivot tables, filters, sorting, and vlookups.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to lift 25 pounds and physically count inventory in a manufacturing or distributor environment. Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to walk the production floor with possible uneven surfaces. Ability to use a rolling ladder to count inventory. This work takes place in a professional office setting that has a production shop floor attached. Ability to wear PPE when appropriate will be required.
