Laborer - 1st Shift (4-8 week contract only) We have 2nd and 3rd shift available Job Description This 1st shift Laborer role supports daily operations in a warehouse environment that receives and processes medical waste. You will unload and reload trailers, weigh and stage materials for processing, and handle tubs and drums as they move through washing and consolidation. The position also includes quality checks on cleaned containers and general housekeeping to maintain a safe and orderly work area. This role is contract for 4-8 weeks. However, if performed well then you can potentially be under a contract to hire. Responsibilities Receive incoming medical waste and ensure it is handled safely and in accordance with established procedures. Unload and reload trailers efficiently, using appropriate equipment and safe lifting techniques. Weigh tubs and other containers, accurately record weights, and stage materials for processing. Dump tubs as required and place them onto the washer, ensuring proper loading and safe operation. Perform drum consolidation activities, organizing and consolidating materials as directed. Place items on conveyors for processing and monitor the flow of materials through the system. Inspect tubs after they come off the washer to verify cleanliness and quality, and remove any items that do not meet standards. Maintain general housekeeping in the warehouse, including cleaning work areas and keeping walkways and equipment clear. Follow all safety guidelines and operational procedures while working around medical waste and processing equipment. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor tasks in a warehouse environment. Capability to unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently. Comfort working with medical waste in a controlled, process-driven setting. Ability to operate within a fast-paced, physically demanding role that involves lifting, carrying, and moving containers. Attention to detail when weighing, staging, and inspecting tubs and other materials. Reliability to work the assigned 1st shift schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, or material handling roles is beneficial. Familiarity with unloading trailers and handling containers in an industrial or warehouse setting is an advantage. Willingness to learn procedures for handling and processing medical waste. Work Environment This position is based in a warehouse environment that receives and processes medical waste. The standard schedule is 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first shift. You will work around trailers, conveyors, washers, tubs, and drums, and you will regularly handle containers of medical waste in a controlled setting. The role is physically active and requires moving, lifting, and handling materials throughout the shift. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety when working with medical waste and processing equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Santa Ana, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
