Position Overview:

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of general manual labor tasks including but not limited to, lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading of trucks, and other activities in a helping or assisting role. Will be required to learn how to operate a forklift to move product following OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities:

Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move lumber and building materials throughout the yard. Receive, inspect, and organize incoming shipments of lumber and materials. Pre-pulling and staging customer orders. Assist customers and coworkers with loading and unloading materials. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, stacking, and organizing lumber. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Assist inventory control in counting and organizing warehouse materials. Comply with all company policies and guidelines. Works with constant awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results. Other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent, previous experience will be considered in lieu of education. Prior experience operating forklifts in a lumber yard or similar environment preferred. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 80 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Bilingual - English/Spanish Must be reliable and on time daily. Must have a valid and clean MVR. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Candidate must be willing to do a Drug & Background screening. Full-time 7:15-5 Monday- Friday with PAID lunches, and rotating Saturdays 7:45-12
