is a full-line seed company providing high quality, high-performing farm seed products as well as lawn and turf products throughout Pennsylvania, New York, New England states, Florida, and South Carolina. We offer a leading line of vegetable seed for growers in the United States and Eastern Canada.
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
The purpose for this position is to assist in grass planting and all maintenance of dams, ditches, and flat land.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for planting grass seed, fertilizer, hay mulch, silt fence, coconut matting, rolled or palleted sod per job specifications and site supervisor instructions. Responsible for daily equipment checks and maintenance. Maintains an accurate count of product applied, when applicable. Operates necessary machinery such as tractor, slope mower, ditch mower, batwing mower, forklift, line trimmer, loader, etc. Adheres to all MSHA and FPP safety rules and policies.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. May be required to drive and run local errands as needed. Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 1 or more years of retail related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of basic business principals of inventory management and mechanics. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Frequently required to lift 51-70 lbs as needed. Frequently exposed to working conditions may include heat, dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures Will be required to work hours other than those considered "normal" to meet seasonal demands. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures, MSHA and FPP and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
