Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE.
To perform routine park maintenance as directed by the Crew Leader. In absence of the Crew Leader, this person takes the lead in coordination with the Foreman's advice.ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
include the following, but others may be assigned: Operates various hand/power tools and heavy equipment in performing duties, including, but not limited to, hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, power saws, ball blower, air nozzle, air compressor, driver, ratchet, calipers, mop, broom, deburring and deflashing tools, forklift, belt sander, gauges, pressure washer, grinder, drill press, cutting torch, skid steer, and front-end loader. Maintains parks grounds, including, but not limited to, mowing, weed eating, mulching, and blowing leaves, shoveling and plowing snow, cutting trees, removing brush and branches, cleaning, disinfecting, and opening bathrooms, repairing or building new picnic tables, grinding and painting trash cans, and picking up trash and emptying trash cans. Assist the public as needed. Performs related duties as assigned. There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE and/orEXPERIENCE
High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and t draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, pruning shears, etc. Painting skills preferred. Skills in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems preferred. Meets the above physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties, and performs other tasks as assigned. High school diploma or high school equivalency (HSE) and three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
