Operates basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and rights-of-way.
Moves and loads supplies and materials.
Performs emergency response activities such as: clean-up, traffic control, lane closures, placement of signs, and erecting barricades.
Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, refueling, and pre-trip inspections.
Performs miscellaneous labor tasks. Performs other related job duties as assigned.
What You'll Need for
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Working knowledge of appropriate safety practices associated with repair and maintenance heavy equipment, vehicles and/or motorized equipment.
Knowledge of heavy and light duty vehicle and equipment use and maintenance.
Skill in operating hand & power tools related to use & maintenance of vehicles & equipment.
Ability to carry out oral and written instructions and to complete records and reports.
Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
Ability to follow directions and work as a part of a team.
Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for long periods of time.
Ability to carry out basic functions on the computer.
Ability to work in a multi-functional team.

This position pays an hourly rate of $18.00. A Day in theLife:

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.Must possess a valid driver's license.
