TRACK LABORER

The Track Laborer is responsible for maintenance and repairs of the racetrack surfaces and physical structures in the organization. Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to obtain an Indiana Horse Racing License

Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events. Behavior and appearance must be in compliance with established standards. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing steps and sitting. Horseshoe Indianapolis is a smoking establishment, therefore must be able to work in a smoking environment. Must be able to work in a highly populated fast-paced and noisy environment. Repair pylons and fence as needed Remove and place rail as required Minor carpentry work Minor welding repairs Assist Landscaping staff when required Assist with operations of the equipment/ machinery as needed All other duties as assigned by management.
