Poultry Sorting and Hatching Poultry Sorting and Hatching Position Summary:

In this department, you will play a key role in ensuring the health and quality of newly hatched chicks and poultry. This position involves working in a warm and fast-paced environment, sorting chicks by breed, Feather sexing, and ensuring optimal quality. Employees must maintain a safe and clean workstation and remain sanitary in the workplace. you will work individually and within a team to tray eggs, set Machines, and conduct transfers from incubating machines to hatching machines. On Sundays and Tuesdays, we pull our live Hatch, which requires long hours of sorting and caring for live, freshly hatched poultry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

unload incoming eggs from delivery tray eggs for specific machines by breed type set machines for future hatch transfer eggs from incubators to hatching machines maintain proper hygiene and sanitation for biosecurity standards work efficiently with a team to meet daily goals remain productive during slow times Must be able to work on Sunday Must be able to work Qualifications and skills Ability to work within a team maintain good attendance ability to commute to and from the workplace can pass a background check can pass a drug test at any time ability to work in warm, humid conditions ability to work long hours, 8-15 hour shifts previous farm, animal care, or factory experience is preferred Must be able to perform basic math Reliable Transportation to and from work Physical Requirements Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs ability to work extended hours ability to work up to 6 days a week, including Sundays Squatting, Bending, Kneeling, and standing

Pay:

$19.93 - $22.00 per hour
