Job Description
Performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled manual labor tasks and other duties, as required, within Cemetery division. Employees in this class perform semi-skilled and unskilled work for cemetery projects. Occasionally operates non-specialized equipment for completion of tasks; does related work as assigned. Work is performed under regular supervision. Performs weed-eating, grass cutting, and general labor work. Assists skilled tradesman by carrying materials, tools and equipment. Works grounds around cemeteries, ground facilities, and other assigned areas. Follows safety procedures in performance of work and wears protective personal equipment (PPE). Performs other duties as assigned. Ability to operate and maintain materials, tools, and equipment to which assigned. Ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions for completion of tasks. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions. Ability to lift heavy articles. Ability to read and write.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduation or GED equivalent. Related Work ExperiencePHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement. Performs heavy work that involves constantly lifting, shoveling, and carrying 35 to 50 pounds on a regular and recurring basis and exerting 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS
