Description of Responsibilities:

Under direction, perform preparation work and assist in the rewinding of electromechanical equipment. Keep work area neat and clean. Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear including, but not limited to, eye and ear protection. Assist other shop employees with skilled or non-skilled duties as directed. All duties performed may not be listed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Performed:

• Assist with dismantling and/or stripping of damaged or unserviceable electromechanical equipment.
• Assist in preparing reusable parts for rewinding and in inspecting renewed parts for hidden, structural damage or unusual conditions.
• Operate specialized repair and/or testing equipment, including but not limited to, burnout ovens, sandblaster, wire wheel, grinders, cranes, forklifts, dip tanks, various handheld power and non-power tools.
• Operate automatic washers, pressure washers, or manual solvent tanks to clean metal products.
• Degrease parts, remove rust/debris, and prepare surfaces for assembly and painting.
• Lifts units or parts using crane system.
• Maintain cleaning tanks and machines. Report any damage.
• Check cleaned parts for defects, machining irregularities, or damage. Report any damage.
• Assist other shop personnel in skilled or nonskilled duties as directed.
• Safely transport and deliver goods in accordance with a schedule, including emergency, rush deliveries or pick-ups that require overtime.

Requirements:

• High school diploma plus some trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job work or training preferred.
• Appointees must possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey and abide by the company's motor vehicle policy.
• Overtime required for emergency, rush jobs as needed.
