Ag Laborer

The position of Agronomy Laborer is of great significance to Valley Agronomics. A person in this position will assist patrons in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the cooperative. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently. Assist customers with buying bulk fertilizer, chemicals and seed as well as delivering of grain commodities to the terminal. Load and Unload inventory transfers and belt/hopper trucks in a timely manner as they come into the business. Verify that the equipment and supporting vehicles are in good working order. Blend and load Agronomy products Unload grain commodities as they are received. Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, or other to customer site. Perform warehouse work to include driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance. Perform housekeeping inside and outside of all facilities. Complete all safety reports and required record keeping. Follow all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES

High School diploma or GED preferred. Maintain current license that apply to the position. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in an appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and the general public. Must be able to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy. Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service throughout the location. Must have ability to determine order of need and task priority based on level of importance. Must have a manager focus on all interactions and exhibit strong critical thinking/ problem solving skills. Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
