Reporting Structure and Functional Alignment Organizational Cultivation Reporting Line:
Grow Laborer > Grow Supervisor > Technical Cultivation Manager > Senior Director of Cultivation, Grow Laborers work in a cross-functional cultivation environment and may receive task direction from Grow, Flower, IPM, and Fertigation Leads and Supervisors as assigned. Cross-functional support does not change the formal reporting relationship. Position Summary The Grow Laborer supports cultivation operations by performing labor-intensive tasks related to plant care, harvesting support, room sanitation, material handling, and equipment cleaning. This role is responsible for completing assigned duties safely, accurately, and in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements within a fast-paced, production-driven cultivation environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support daily cultivation operations through the safe and efficient completion of assigned tasks. Assist with plant care activities including cleaning, transplanting, harvesting support, and movement of grow media and materials. Sanitize cultivation rooms, tools, equipment, and surrounding areas in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Assist with decontamination of equipment and materials to maintain biosecurity and compliance standards. Support harvesting and post-harvest transfer activities as assigned. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including accessing ladders or catwalks to service cultivation equipment when trained and authorized. Identify and promptly communicate safety concerns, equipment issues, or conditions that may impact plant health, productivity, or compliance. Accurately complete required logs, records, and documentation related to cultivation activities and compliance tracking. Complete required METRC training and accurately perform METRC-related tasks as assigned, in accordance with state regulations and company procedures. Follow all departmental SOPs, safety protocols, and training requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Schedule and Work Hours Flexible schedule based on operational needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overtime, or coverage during peak cultivation and harvest periods as required. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Must successfully complete all required background checks. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Marijuana Establishment Agent Registration Card. Pesticide Applicator License required or ability to obtain if assigned to pesticide-related tasks. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and quality. Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with supervisors and team members. Equivalent combinations of experience, training, and education will be considered. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Cultivation environment where cannabis plants and cannabis products are present. Employees in this position will be directly exposed to live cannabis plants and cannabis products as part of normal job duties. Must be able to tolerate handling and strong odors of cannabis throughout the workday. Work is performed in a tropical cultivation environment, where elevated humidity, CO2 levels, and the presence of molds or fungi may occur. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, climbing ladders or steps, and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 60 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance).
