Parks & Recreation Aide 5 Storehouse Helper

The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description The Parks and Recreation Aide 5, SG-NS - Storehouse Helper assists with receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment used in park operations. This position is ideal for someone dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor 4, SG-21 at Bear Mountain State Park, the selected candidate's duties will include, but not be limited to:

• Receive and unload deliveries and shipments.
• Organize and maintain inventory in storage areas.
• Distribute supplies and materials to park staff as needed.
• Assist with inventory counts and record keeping.
• Operate basic warehouse equipment and hand tools safely.
• Maintain clean and orderly workspaces.
• Support other maintenance and operational tasks as assigned.
• Work effectively independently as well as in a team setting.
• Adhere to the agency's Code of Conduct Policy and ensure compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks.

OPERATIONAL NEEDS

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
• Must have the ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
