Position Hours:
10 mo plus 17 summer days, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (with 1/2 hr unpaid lunch) This work involves management of athletic uniforms, supplies, and equipment. This includes organizing storage areas, inventory, electronic issuing and tracking, cleaning uniforms and working with staff to maintain accurate records. Some physical labor will be required including moving boxes, bins, racks, equipment, and other related work. Additional related duties for the HPERA department as determined through director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED and one year of work experience. Basic computer skills, necessary for inventory, e-mail correspondence, use of related software and record keeping. Interpersonal skills for communicating and coordination with coaches, students, parents, and department staff. Ability to physically move equipment, boxes, and other related items.
Daily Duties:
Inventory - Receive and check in new equipment. Number/label, store, and inventory of athletic equipment Make minor reports on athletic equipment when feasible. Work with athletic secretary in the budget process for supplies, equipment, uniforms Athletic Equipment Management Pick up and deliver equipment to other buildings when necessary. Follow up on equipment and clothing not returned or lost. Issue to and ensure retrieval of athletic equipment and clothing from individuals, teams, and coaches for each sport. Assist Athletic Trainer in maintaining medical kids, water cools, water bottles, etc. for athletic teams. Have a working knowledge of sport specific needs to assist coaches with issuing of equipment Work with coaches and vendors on maintaining sport specific maintenance standards Learn and use software related inventory for tracking. Uniform Care Oversee athletic laundry operations. Wash and issue game uniforms for varsity teams as required Surplus/Storage Evaluate old uniforms and equipment; take appropriate steps to discard, replace, or recondition once examined. Report and document unsafe broken equipment, safety hazards, and potentially hazardous conditions dealing with Athletic and Physical Education programs. Assist Physical Education teachers with equipment issues, locker room maintenance, and other related duties, including retrieval and delivery of requested items. Keep storage areas neat and orderly. Other Duties Perform any other reasonable request related to the field of Athletics and Physical Education. Attend department meetings Communicate with coaches, athletic staff and other stakeholders (e-mail, phone) Preparing athletic facility work orders based on specific team/coach/department needs
