Utility Laborer

Utility Laborer The City of Johnstown Service Department has an opening for a Utility Laborer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license and the ability to obtain an Ohio Class B CDL within 24 months. Must interact with all City employees and the public in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS

May be required to walk, sit, or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift a minimum of (80) pounds.

Job duties include the following:

Plows snow, spreads salt and ensures safety of City properties and roadways Cuts and trims grass, bushes, trees, and performs all other grounds maintenance Maintains/cleans City buildings, vehicles, equipment, and parks Maintains and repairs storm sewer collection system Maintains and repairs street signs, traffic lights, and street lights Paints crosswalks and parking spaces Generally, cleans the City (picks up trash, etc.) Responds to road, snow, storm, water line, and sanitary line emergencies Locates, excavates, repairs waterlines and sewer lines Performs all other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

All work is performed under the supervision of the Street Director and Service Director.

SHIFT:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm Full time position - (5) 8hr days. Position subject to call-ins during snow events and emergency related work.

COMPENSATION

Utility Laborer- Starts at $19.00/HR

PLUS BENEFITS

($20.50/HR w/ Class B CDL) -40 HOURS PER WEEK- Utility Operator full pay range ($19.00-29.49)
