Job Description

Full-Time Laborer - Streets Department The City of Wilmington is currently accepting applications for a full-time Laborer in the Streets Department. Working under direct supervision, this position assists with the maintenance and cleaning of City streets, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, storm drains, rights-of-way, and related structures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver's license and must remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance plan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Sweep, shovel, and remove debris from City streets, gutters, sidewalks, and rights-of-way Assist with leaf collection, mowing grass, trimming trees, and weed eating in public areas Participate in snow and ice removal operations Install, repair, and maintain street signs and signposts Make minor repairs to traffic lights, repair potholes, install raised traffic bars, guardrails, and reflectors Perform basic maintenance on equipment and vehicles, including cleaning and washing Adhere to all job safety requirements and applicable OSHA standards Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance Attend required trainings, meetings, or seminars as directed This position's starting salary is $17.84 per hour.
