Automotive Shop Hand

PRIMARY FUNCTION

: The Shop Hand is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. This role supports daily shop operations by handling cleaning tasks, organizing tools and materials, and managing waste and scrap.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/DUTIES

Clean and maintain shop floors, work areas, and equipment Organize tools, parts, and supplies to ensure easy access and efficiency Sort, remove, and dispose of garbage, recycling, and scrap materials properly Operate a forklift to move materials, equipment, and scrap safely (certification preferred) Assist with loading and unloading materials Assist with inventory organization and basic stock management Support skilled workers with general labor tasks as needed Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred or willingness to obtain) Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods Strong attention to detail and organization Basic understanding of shop tools and equipment (preferred but not required) Reliable and able to follow instructions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Fast-paced shop setting May involve exposure to dust, noise, and machinery
