Job Title:
Yard Worker Job Description The Yard Worker prepares samples and display orders for trade shows while supporting daily yard and production operations. This role combines outdoor labor, material handling, and forklift operation to ensure orders are accurately picked, safely loaded and unloaded, and delivered on time. The position requires comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks throughout the day. Responsibilities Pick and prepare samples and display orders accurately and efficiently for trade shows. Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move, load, and unload materials throughout the yard and facility. Load trucks, with a focus on flatbed trucks, ensuring loads are secure and properly arranged. Unload incoming trucks and verify materials against order or delivery documentation. Assist in general production tasks as needed to support overall operations. Perform outdoor yard work approximately 75% of the time, including organizing materials and maintaining a clean, safe yard. Handle materials manually, including heavy lifting of items weighing 50+ pounds. Use hand tools and power tools as needed to support yard, production, and display preparation activities. Support inventory activities by helping to locate, stage, and track materials and products. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with equipment, tools, and materials. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate loading, unloading, and order preparation. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude when working with equipment, tools, and concrete-related products. Essential Skills Proven ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently. Experience picking and preparing orders in a yard, warehouse, construction, or production environment. Ability to work outdoors in all elements, including rain, heat, and cold. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Experience with general labor and material handling tasks. Comfort working around and using hand tools and power tools. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to be mechanically inclined when working with equipment and materials. Ability to perform outdoor labor and yard work for extended periods. Reliability and strong work ethic in a physically demanding environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction, landscaping, or concrete-related work. Experience in general production or manufacturing environments. Experience loading and unloading trucks, especially flatbed trucks. Familiarity with inventory support, including locating and staging materials. Experience using loaders or similar material handling equipment. Comfort with heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks. Attention to detail when preparing samples and display orders. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Why Work Here? The role involves regular use of a sit-down forklift, hand tools, power tools, and other material handling equipment while loading and unloading trucks and handling concrete and other heavy materials. The setting is active and physically demanding, with an emphasis on safety, teamwork, and maintaining an organized yard and display area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pen Argyl, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
