Shop Laborer

For over 100 years, Maguire Iron has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Shop Laborer will perform a variety of tasks within the fabrication shop. Position Duties Cleans and lubricates equipment, maintains a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, and readies or puts away tools as assigned. Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery. Cares for property by repairing yard, shoveling and removing snow. Using an oxygen acetylene torch, cuts steel scrap material and carries to bin to assist with burn table operations. Fills in blaster for continuing blast booth operations if full-time blaster is absent. Performs any unskilled job at the fabrication shop. Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level employee. Performs other duties assigned Position Qualifications Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to listen, understand and follow directions. Ability to work in a variety of roles. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Job training for this position is provided by department trainer. At Maguire Iron, we believe in protecting and storing quality water.
