Job Description Position Objective:
The primary responsibility of a Shop Helper is to perform general labor tasks.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist with disassembly and reassembly of motors, generators, and pumps Sandblast, steam clean, cleans and prep parts Operates the cutout saw and put motors, generators, and pumps in the burn out oven Performs tasks as required for general facility maintenance and upkeep including but not limited to lawn care, general janitorial duties, sweeping, pressure washing and painting Operate company equipment (i.e. forklift, crane hand tools, etc.) in a safe and efficient manner in the performance of all duties as required Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis Comply with all company policies / procedures and perform all job functions in an ethical manner Complete all required safety training Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear for all tasks Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area free of hazards as directed by supervisor Performs all applicable duties in accordance with ISO procedures, if required Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by management
Experience/Skills:
Ability to successfully complete all required training, in-house/offsite Must be willing work evenings and/or weekends, if required Possess valid identification Be able to operate motor vehicles in compliance with all state and federal requirements, if travel required Forklift and overhead crane certification required Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Basic/experienced mechanic knowledge Basic computer skills Good communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to read, write and follow work instructions Ability to interface with co-workers and customers Ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines Team player attitude with the ability to work with minimal supervision
