DESCRIPTION

Responsible for contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of our community's recreational spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in manual labor or related field is preferred. Valid Texas Driver license at time of placement. Flexibility to work weekends or evenings for special events or projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of landscaping and maintenance practices. Knowledge of using hand and power tools, lawn equipment, welders, cutting torches, and various carpentry tools. Knowledge of electrical, carpentry, welding, and plumbing procedures. Skills in strong verbal and written communication. Ability to perform strenuous physical labor and to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

MAJOR DUTIES

Perform manual labor tasks, including but not limited to landscaping, grounds maintenance, and facility upkeep. Assist in the installation and repair of park amenities, equipment, and infrastructure. Operate and maintain various hand tools and power equipment as required for assigned tasks. Participate in the preparation and cleanup of special events and programs hosted within parks. Perform routine inspections of park areas to identify and report maintenance needs. Support a safe and clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisory staff. Ensure proper disposal of waste and debris in compliance with departmental policies. Respond to emergency situations, such as storm damage or hazardous conditions, as directed. Perform other duties as assigned by the Parks and Recreation Department. This position is an essential service position and will require providing services during emergency situations.
