Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity The Orem Public Works Department is currently hiring for part-time and seasonal Laborers. These are non-benefited positions responsible for performing a variety of manual duties in the Public Works Department. Applicants may elect or be assigned to one of the following sections: Storm Water, Streets, Traffic, Water (Distribution or Supply), Water Reclamation (Collection or Treatment), or Water Utility. Depending on specific section and assignment, duties may be related to sprinkler system repairs, painting, cleaning, water line repair and maintenance, water meter reading and maintenance, sanitary and storm sewer line repair and maintenance, detention basin mowing, street striping, sign production and installation, streetlight repair and maintenance.. For a complete job click here. Qualifications May require a valid driver license and have a good driving record. Must be able to perform heavy manual labor outside during spring, summer and fall months in all weather conditions. Due to equipment operation, applicants must be at least 17 years of age; some positions require being at least 18 years of age. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation. Pay and Benefits Starts at $17.00 to $20.00 per hour depending upon experience, qualifications, and type of work performed. Schedule Seasonal and Flexible positions available. Seasonal positions will work up to 40 hours per week and employment will last up to 6 months from date of hire. Flexible positions will work up to 28 hours per week. Weekend work may be required.
