General Purpose This position is with Union IBB Local S1978 Responsibilities Responsible for safely and efficiently working as a general laborer performing such duties as assisting maintenance department personnel; washing heavy equipment; cleaning up shop areas, draglines, and conveyors; snow removal; painting; fire extinguisher maintenance; and other general laborer duties as assigned. Operates dump truck, steam truck, snow removal equipment and moving large mining equipment (in non-production mode) as part of the above duties. Inspects equipment before operating and insures that it is in safe, operable condition. All work will be performed in compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and company policies for the mine to meet its budgeted goals in safety, cost, productivity and environmental requirements. Requirements A high school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with operation of small equipment is preferred.
