Job Description

Specific Role:
The General Laborer plays a critical support role within EMIT's manufacturing facility by providing operational support across multiple departments based on production priorities and business needs. This position is responsible for maintaining workflow continuity, supporting production output, assisting machine operators and teams, and ensuring operational flexibility across the plant. The General Laborer must be adaptable, safety-focused, quality-driven, and capable of supporting various manufacturing processes including material handling, machine support, assembly support, packaging, and general production activities.
Key Accountabilities:
Execute daily scheduled production expectations for assigned role responsibilities. Ensure finished products meet specified quality standards. Keep all manufacturing orders (MOs) organized and transfer finished work to pallets while properly labeling parts. Maintain accurate production status updates in OSEON. Keep work areas organized, clean, and free of potential hazards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience is a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production needs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively. Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills preferred for production tracking and system updates. Forklift certification or material handling experience is a plus.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs. repeatedly. Ability to stand, walk, and move for an entire shift. Always use applicable PPE. Follow safety protocols when using tools and handling materials. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
