Transportation Specialist Starting Pay is $16.64 per hour, more is possible with experience. Marshall County, Alabama based in
Guntersville Transportation Specialist Job Description Summary of Responsibilities:
This is a direct service position which involves efficiently planning and coordinating a transportation schedule and transporting consumers.
Examples of Job Requirements:
Transport consumers to/from outpatient MLBHC appointments and other locations as needed. Driving for long periods of time with occasional stops. Arrange maintenance of vehicles such as gas filling, repairs, oil change, tire change and rotation, etc. Follow Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations. Monitor consumers at all times. Maintain safety for consumers. Follow all traffic laws in regard to vehicle speed, safety signage and traffic signals, railroad crossing, etc. Provide information to supervisor regarding consumer behaviors and progress. Document consumer behavior and activities, in accordance with supervisor. Assist consumers with standing, sitting, walking, boarding and exiting van or other vehicle. Bending, stooping. Climbing vehicle steps and occasional climbing of stairs at homes or other buildings. Other duties as assigned.
Supervisor:
The supervisor of this position depends upon the program.
Required Qualifications:
This position minimally requires a high school diploma or equivalent. The driver of any vehicle used in consumer transportation shall be at least nineteen (19) years old and in possession of a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle used in transporting recipients. Additionally, driver must maintain a driving record which is acceptable/approved by the MLBHC insurance provider(s). Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification and Crisis Prevention (CPI) training. Ability to relate well to multi-disciplinary staff, general public and consumers. CPR and CPI training available on-the-job.
