Tucson, AZ (on-site) The Biorepository Technician - I role is an entry level, non-exempt, technical position which provides direct support for activities within the Biorepository Department. The Biorepository Department has the overarching responsibility for the distribution and storage of all cryopreserved biological specimens. Essential activities include daily order fulfillment and moving inventory in and out of storage tank. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned: Performs inventory management to include receiving, assessment, storage, transferring, and distribution of medical specimens/devices. Adheres to strict guidelines when handling specimen/devices while performing inventory management functions. Performs related shipping and receiving functions of medical specimens/devices to include picking/packing, serial number/lot number verification, package preparation, scanning, courier interaction, tracking of incoming and outgoing shipments, and general follow-up as needed. Responds to biorepository alert systems with appropriate follow-up action Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect specimen integrity and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, manager, or director of biorepository operations. Performs on-call duties and responses to biorepository alert systems Performs equipment monitoring and maintenance on all biorepository related equipment Performs quality control checks on all biorepository related equipment Interacts and updates various databases related to biorepository functions and activities Provide administration support by producing various reports and record keeping associated with biorepository functions and activities Adheres to strict safety guidelines Handles liquid nitrogen (LN2) utilizing personal protective equipment and good safety practices. Assist in external/internal audit preparations as required. Adheres to all company policies and procedures Performs other duties and projects as required Must be able to routinely lift and carry
