The Demand Planner role is responsible for effectively administering the functions of demand management, forecasting and analytics for GF Building Flow Solutions. The Demand Planner identifies and deploys demand planning best practices while delivering a monthly updated demand plan built on the combination of statistical forecasting practices, sales forecasts and scenario planning to be used in the organizations Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Continually conducts analysis to improve the predictability and accuracy of monthly plans so as to better anticipate customer needs and align organizational sales and service objectives. Coordinates communication with sales, marketing, finance, sourcing, operations and other departments to ensure accurate and relevant data is included in forecasts. Implements forecasting best practices and make recommendations regarding the design and implementation of data collection, modeling and reporting processes to improve operational efficiencies and increase organizational forecasting capabilities. This role is considered a HYBRID position with periodic onsite work at our headquarters in Apple Valley, Minnesota. What will you be doing? Responsible for creation of rolling 24 month SKU-level demand plan using statistical algorithms, sales forecast, historical variance, market changes, data analysis and input from key stakeholders leading to organizational consensus forecast. Regularly calculate and report on demand forecast key performance metrics to internal stakeholders. Create and enhance demand planning diagnostic tools to facilitate analysis, utilizing past and present data to decode underlying trends and improve accuracy of forecast while making recommendations on appropriate tactics and strategies to pursue as a result of data analysis. Play an integral role in monthly S&OP process, presenting prepared forecast and outlining key elements of plan. Ensure connectivity between volume forecast and financial forecasting process to reconcile discrepancies and close gaps as a means of reaching forecast consensus. Develop and manage data collection processes, databases, and BI reporting while building and refining forecasting models to improve demand planning accuracy for key North American distributors. Develop, manage, and continuously refine Omni‑channel account forecasts using a multi‑echelon approach across invoice, POS, and inventory data streams to ensure accurate demand visibility and alignment. Work closely with marketing segment teams on the development of product plans and New Product Development (NPD) launch plans. Proactively participates in team initiatives to support business success and completes assigned tasks. What will you need? Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, mathematics/statistics, finance, economics or related field. 5-10 years of demand planning and forecasting experience in a manufacturing setting required, APICS certification a plus. Strong technical skillset required in one or more of the major statistical forecast software packages (Logility, SAP, Oracle, APO, Manugistics, Demantra, ForecastPRO). Advanced computer skills with business planning software packages, statistics applications, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence reporting tools. Advanced analytical, problem solving, communication, time management and organizational abilities. Self-starter who can operate autonomously and meet deadlines with limited supervision Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and connect with all levels of employees to drive continuous improvement in the forecasting and planning process Thrives in a dynamic work environment, exhibiting ability to be flexible and a strong team-player Familiarity with data science techniques (data cleaning, machine learning), AI/agent-driven automation, and tools (R, Python or similar modeling languages, and SQL) is a plus. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Please note that this range represents the full base salary wage for the role and hiring at or near the top of the range is uncommon to ensure room for future pay advancement.
