The Production Planner I coordinates with the operations and procurement teams to ensure the movement of materials and resources through departments to meet production schedules. Crane Aerospace & Electronics supplies critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times Plan sequence of fabrication and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers Confer with supervisors to determine status of assigned projects; expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions Prepare production reports Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or managementMinimum Qualifications:
Experience:
5+ years' experience in scheduling, supply chain or fulfillmentKnowledge:
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, production planning and materials control functions; Strong understanding of Kanban Systems, JIT, POU, FIFO, Level loading, with a manufacturing process understanding preferredSkills/Abilities:
Expert in using scheduling and capacity planning tools experience with Oracle; Significant experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access; Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication and interpersonal skillsEducation/Certification:
BS degree requiredPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred Experience with Oracle (11i preferred)Eligibility Requirement:
