Reporting to the Operations or Plant Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating production schedules, monitoring material flow, and aligning manufacturing capacity with customer demand. The planner works closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams to maintain schedule integrity and support high-precision manufacturing in regulated environments. This role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate production challenges, adjust schedules accordingly, and maintain visibility across multiple stages of the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage detailed production plans to support manufacturing schedules and on-time customer deliveries. Coordinate closely with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure production resources, materials, and labor are aligned with production demand. Monitor work order progress throughout the production lifecycle and adjust schedules to address delays or bottlenecks. Ensure materials, components, and tooling are available to support scheduled production activities. Collaborate with quality teams to incorporate inspection requirements, testing stages, and compliance checkpoints into production timelines. Track key production metrics including schedule adherence, capacity utilization, and delivery performance. Support inventory planning by maintaining appropriate production levels and minimizing excess or shortages. Identify production constraints and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule continuity. Participate in daily and weekly production meetings to communicate schedule priorities, operational challenges, and recovery strategies. Maintain accurate production data and documentation within ERP or MRP systems. Required Qualifications 5-10+ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing scheduling, or production control. Experience working within aerospace or medical device manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and capacity planning. Experience managing work orders, routings, and production schedules in ERP/MRP systems. Ability to interpret technical documentation, including manufacturing travelers, work instructions, and engineering drawings. Advanced proficiency in Excel or similar data management tools. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize competing production demands in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments such as
AS9100, ISO
9001, or
ISO 13485.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts including continuous improvement, pull systems, and production flow optimization. Experience supporting precision manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume production environments. Background working with cross-functional teams including supply chain, engineering, and quality assurance.
