Description:
Primary Function of Position This position is seeking a creative, analytical, and flexible individual with expertise in planning and material master data and how it drives MRP signals. This position will support engineering change cutovers and drive material planning activities and actions required to meet implementation dates and excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory goals. The candidate will work with multiple cross-functional teams such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, IT, and Engineering to achieve both tactical and strategic goals by fully understanding production demand and supply requirements. This role is responsible for balancing operational goals while incorporating Lean Manufacturing principles, identifying issues, coordinating resolutions, and driving continuous improvement opportunities. The position requires strong presentation skills and clear communication abilities. Essential Job Duties Coordinate the release of engineering change orders to ensure minimal impact during cutovers, avoid E&O risks, and maintain financial accountability for material planning across multiple business units. Manage material change activities through established review and approval processes. Audit Material Master settings to ensure alignment with established planning parameters, business requirements, and specifications. Ensure MRP stability through ongoing monitoring, analysis, and cleanup activities. Allocate shared component materials across manufacturing sites based on changing demand and supply priorities. Ensure component-level material availability is aligned with production schedules through scenario planning and what-if simulations. Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage, Kanban bin sizing, material presentation to production lines, and material protection. Coordinate with other departments regarding material planning and inventory management activities across various use cases. Serve as the single point of contact for assigned business units, representing the planning function in cross-functional meetings and coordinating with Project Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams on new material introductions and material planning for part revision changes. SAP PPDS/MDG
configuration by working with appropriate subject matter experts and stakeholders through ERP change management processes. Support SIOP activities and related material scenario planning to proactively identify supply constraints. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for systemic issues that affect inventory health and drive materials into exception conditions. Audit and maintain governance of yield and scrap settings for finished goods and raw materials. Required Skills and Experience Experience with MRP and SAP systems. Strong negotiation, forecasting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of change control processes. Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Required Education and Training Minimum of 10 years of experience in a progressive manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred Skills and Experience This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but serves as a coach and mentor to other positions within the organization.
