- Processes material requisitions, complete purchase orders, and forward to supervisor for approval following departmental procedures.
- Expedite purchase orders, secure required delivery dates and quantities.
- Interview vendors and investigate sources of supply consistent with lowest cost and acceptable quality standards.
- Maintain good relationship with all vendor companies and their representatives.
- Negotiate with appropriate vendors for the return and/or replacement of rejected materials.
- Become familiar with the material usage requirements for subsidiary operations. Assures that vendors are advised of pertinent information.
- Becomes familiar with applicable federal and state regulations, federal priority regulations, and other rules affecting purchases. Properly applies such information in performance of job responsibilities.
- Complete paperwork as required including price change report, debit memos, and freight claim forms.
- Responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies. Who we are looking for
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
- Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
