NxEdge - Morgan Hill Job Summary & Job Duties The Production Planner is responsible for converting customer demand into achievable production plans that balance capacity, materials, and operational constraints. This role serves as the critical link between demand signals and shop floor execution, ensuring schedules are realistic, communicated clearly, and adjusted proactively to support on time delivery and stable operations.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Translate customer demand, forecasts, and backlog into feasible production plans and schedules
  • Develop, maintain, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
  • Balance capacity, labor, equipment, and material availability to meet delivery commitments
  • Adjust production plans in response to disruptions such as material shortages, capacity constraints, or priority changes
  • Assess machine, labor, and tooling capacity against demand requirements
  • Identify bottlenecks and overloads; propose tradeoffs such as overtime, or re sequencing of work
  • Support rough cut and detailed capacity planning activities
  • Communicate production schedules, priorities, and changes to production supervisors and operations leadership
  • Work cross functionally with Engineering (ECOs, NPI), Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure execution readiness
  • Track and report core planning performance indicators, including schedule adherence Salary Range - $73K - $78K Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficiency with
MRP / ERP
systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor)
  • Strong production scheduling and capacity planning fundamentals
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including filters, pivot tables, formulas, and scenario analysis
  • Ability to interpret bills of material (BOMs), routings, lead times, and work center data
  • Data driven decision making using demand, inventory, and capacity information
  • Ability to identify c0onflicts, constraints, and tradeoffs quickly
  • Experience with scenario planning and impact analysis for changes in demand, supply, or capacity
  • Clear, concise communication of priorities and schedule changes to the shop floor
  • Ability to negotiate priorities and align tradeoffs across Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain
  • High attention to detail with strong follow through
  • Effective time management in fast changing manufacturing environments
  • Comfort operating under ambiguity and adapting to change
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 35 pounds.
  • Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, and chemicals, with protective equipment provided as needed.
  • Must be able to wear the necessary PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, dust mask, etc.)
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Overtime and weekends could be required during heavy workload or to meet special customer demands.
