Immediate Hire Schedule:
Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Railyard Train Coordinator to support rail yard operations. This position plays a key role in the coordination of inbound and outbound units to ensure they are properly loaded onto trains, while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the loading and unloading of inbound/outbound units onto trains to ensure proper handling and timely movement. Monitor checkpoint and yard performance to maintain workflow efficiency. Conduct regular yard checks and verify outbound units are correctly loaded and documented. Interface with customers to resolve complaints, provide updates, and deliver high-quality service. Update key systems such as
BNSF, HUB
Planner, and load planning tools with accurate and timely information. Perform gate duties as needed, including inspections, verifications, and entry/exit control. Collaborate with terminal staff and rail operators to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution. Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a railyard, terminal, or logistics environment preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with logistics and rail systems such as BNSF and HUB Planner is a plus. Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks as needed. Proficient in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to work independently as well as part of a team to maintain smooth operations. Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations.
