Logistics Coordinator West Pak Avocado Inc - 3.7 Ventura, CA Job Details Full-time $20 - $22 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Phone communication Task prioritization Transportation planning Computer skills Full Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities The Transportation/Logistics Coordinator has the responsibility of dispatching trucks, managing in-house and third-party carriers, controlling distribution routes for efficient on-time deliveries, following DOT regulations, and supporting sales team goals. Negotiate transportation rates and services. Maintain relationship and contracts with carriers. Obtain and maintain the services of less-than-truckload carriers. Oversee scheduling of shipments. Book, track and maintain on time delivery of goods. Ensure transit times and on-time delivers are maintained. Ensure carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit and delivery. Work regularly with Sales team to determine the immediate and future trucking needs. Maintain relationship with various accounts to learn how to handle their respective needs more efficiently. Maintain all transportation vendors' insurance certificates. Education & Experience Associates Degree or some college preferred Minimum 2 Years work experience in transportation for produce or perishable food industries Direct experience with routing and load planning Skills Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Knowledge of transportation regulations. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent organizational & negotiating skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems. Salary Range The base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $66,560 - $80,000 The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions The employee has extensive internal and external interfaces with others and the work requires continual problem-solving, the prioritization of tasks and projects, resolution of conflicting needs and issues, and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret trends and data. The essential functions of this job require frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time as well as occasional standing and walking. Sensory demands require the ability to constantly hear and talk, both in person and by phone, and the ability to use a computer, calculator, and standard office equipment. Specific vision acuity required by this job includes close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and color vision when inspecting products. Physical demands include bending, stooping, and reaching above and below shoulder level in order to access records, as well as lifting and carrying files and documents typically weighing less than 25 pounds, with or without assistance.
