Job Description

California Artisanal Medicine (CAM) is California's premier cannabis brand, recognized for producing top-tier products while maintaining a strong operational, quality, and compliance-focused culture. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Distribution Assistant to support daily operations at our Sacramento distribution facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are accurately labeled, documented, packaged, and prepared for compliant distribution throughout California. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of accuracy within a highly regulated industry. Position Summary The Distribution Assistant supports the day-to-day administrative, labeling, packaging, inventory, and compliance functions of the Distribution Department. This role works closely with Packaging, Manufacturing, Inventory, Compliance, and Sales teams to ensure products are accurately tracked, labeled, documented, and transferred in accordance with California cannabis regulations and company standards. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Packaging & Labeling Support Generate, review, and print compliant cannabis product labels. Verify label accuracy including package IDs, batch information, potency data, warning statements, and regulatory disclosures. Coordinate with Packaging and Compliance teams to ensure labeling requirements are met. Maintain label inventories and printing supplies. Troubleshoot basic label printing issues and escalate equipment concerns when necessary. Support packaging documentation and production recordkeeping. Compliance & Documentation Assist with maintaining compliance with California Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) regulations. Review packaging and labeling materials for accuracy and regulatory compliance. Prepare and maintain distribution records, manifests, transfer documentation, and compliance files. Assist with audit preparation and regulatory inspections. Support product tracking and inventory reconciliation activities. Escalate discrepancies, inventory variances, and compliance concerns to management. Administrative Support Prepare and organize distribution paperwork and shipping documentation. Enter and maintain data within inventory management and compliance systems. Maintain accurate electronic and physical records. Assist with internal reporting and record retention requirements. Coordinate communication between Distribution, Packaging, Manufacturing, Inventory, and Sales teams. Support scheduling, filing, document preparation, and general administrative functions. Inventory & Operational Support Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities. Verify product and package information prior to transfers. Support receiving, staging, and movement of inventory throughout the facility. Help maintain an organized, compliant, and inspection-ready work environment. Assist with additional operational projects and duties as assigned. QualificationsRequired High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one (1) year of administrative, inventory, logistics, warehouse, packaging, or operations experience. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Preferred Cannabis industry experience. Experience working in a licensed cannabis distribution, manufacturing, or packaging facility. Experience using METRC. Knowledge of California cannabis packaging, labeling, and distribution regulations. Experience with inventory management and compliance software. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to use computers, printers, scanners, and labeling equipment for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements. Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
