This role focuses on building practical schedules, monitoring job status, and working closely with operations, engineering, and manufacturing teams to support reliable delivery performance. The ideal candidate brings strong planning ability, attention to detail, and the judgment to adapt quickly as priorities shift in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
Create and update production plans that align shop capacity, material readiness, and customer delivery commitments. Work closely with manufacturing and operations teams to revise schedules, release work in the proper sequence, and keep production on track. Review order status and delivery concerns, then take timely action to reduce delays and maintain schedule performance. Analyze production flow and planning data to identify constraints, improve forecast accuracy, and support smoother execution. Verify the availability of components and finished items needed to support daily and upcoming production requirements. Research job, order, and shipment discrepancies, resolve issues affecting fulfillment, and help prevent repeat problems. Prepare complete job documentation packages, including drawings, instructions, and required checklists for the production team. Monitor open work orders, record job progress, and complete daily closure activities with accurate documentation. Maintain organized production records by filing, scanning, and tracking completed reports and related documents. Contribute to process improvements and support planning activities within ERP systems such as Syteline or similar platforms as needed. Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related technical discipline, or at least 2 years of relevant experience in production planning or scheduling. Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting with responsibility for production scheduling, workflow coordination, or order planning. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and follow-through. Effective problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams. Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where schedules, priorities, and production needs can change quickly. High attention to detail and the ability to balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience using Syteline ERP or comparable enterprise planning systems is preferred.
