Buyer / Planner Wheels Manufacturing LLC Louisville, CO Job Details $60,000 - $80,000 a year 7 hours ago Qualifications Data analysis skills Productivity software Data collection Cross-functional collaboration Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Wheels Manufacturing is looking for a Buyer/Planner who enjoys working hands on in a fast moving, small team manufacturing environment. This role supports and owns day to day execution across assigned product lines—balancing customer demand, sourcing realities, margins, and inventory health. You'll work closely with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Sales to help move products from early development through sustainment and end of life. This is not an ivory tower role—you'll be deep in the details, solving real problems, and helping improve how we operate as a growing business. In addition to product and supply chain responsibilities, this role also supports data collection and reporting for Prop 65, REACH, and EPR compliance, with guidance from senior leadership. What You'll Own Demand Planning & Forecasting [25%] Build and maintain SKU level forecasts using historical data, market insight, and input from Sales and Operations. Regularly review forecast accuracy and adjust assumptions as conditions change. Communicate demand changes and risks to help keep purchasing and production aligned. Use forecasts to support new product launch quantities in collaboration with Sales, Engineering and Marketing. Inventory & Supply Planning [25%] Translate forecasts into purchasing and production plans that support service levels without excessive inventory. Help set order quantities, timing, and safety stock based on established planning guidelines. Monitor slow moving, excess, or at risk inventory and propose corrective actions. Contribute to improvements in planning tools, data accuracy, and workflows over time. Pricing & Cost Support [20%] Support product pricing analysis in partnership with Sales, Engineering, and Finance. Help maintain accurate cost models, including materials, freight, and landed costs. Assist with pricing updates related to new products, cost changes, and lifecycle adjustments. Supplier Sourcing & Coordination [20%] Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and day to day communication. Help track pricing, MOQs, lead times, and supplier performance. Escalate supply, quality, or compliance risks as needed and assist with resolution. Identify opportunities to reduce costs, simplify assortments, and improve margins, and bring recommendations forward. Additional Responsibilities Regulatory & Compliance Support [10%] Support California Proposition 65 compliance through documentation tracking and supplier data collection. Assist with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting for applicable products and markets. Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely data submissions. Stay informed on evolving environmental and chemical regulations impacting manufactured products. What We're Looking For Required 2-4 years of experience in product management, supply chain, demand planning, sourcing, or purchasing—preferably in manufacturing or consumer products. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work through imperfect data. Organized, reliable, and comfortable owning tasks and follow through. Clear communicator who works well across engineering, operations, and commercial teams. Solid Microsoft Office skills; strong Excel skills preferred. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with ERP, MRP, forecasting, or S&OP tools. Familiarity with the bicycle or outdoor industry. Exposure to compliance programs such as Prop 65, RoHS, REACH, or EPR. How You'll Succeed Here You're comfortable learning by doing and asking smart questions. You pay attention to details while understanding how they impact the bigger picture. You enjoy improving processes, not just executing them. You take ownership of your work and follow through. You value integrity, accountability, and practical problem solving. We seek talent from all backgrounds to join our teams, and we encourage our employees to bring their authentic and best selves to work. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, reproductive health decisions, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, genetic information, political views or activity, or other applicable legally protected characteristics. $60,000 - $80,000/yr Wheels Manufacturing approaches pay in an ethical and transparent way. Pay ranges are assigned to a job based on market data from 3rd party salary benchmark data as well as balancing internal equity of other roles with similar levels of responsibility. Individual pay within the range can vary for several reasons including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, tenure, performance, and available budget.
